Kate, William, And The Royal Fam’s Statements On Meghan’s 41st Bday Are Revealing

  • Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s relationship with the royal family regularly fuels tabloid reports.

  • Remember their March 2021 interview with Oprah, where they opened up about the racism and harassment they received as working royals from the institution and British press?

  • But for Meghan’s 41st birthday today, the royals gave a rare look into the current state of affairs with the Duchess of Sussex.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry‘s relationship with the royal family regularly fuels tabloid reports and books with claims of tension, estrangement, and drama following the couple’s decision to step back from their senior royal family roles in 2020 and their March 2021 interview with Oprah, where they opened up about the racism and harassment they received as working royals from the institution and British press.

But for Meghan’s 41st birthday today, the royals gave a rare look into the current state of affairs with the Duchess of Sussex—or the version they want the public to see, anyway. Prince Charles; Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall; Kate Middleton; and Prince William shared posts celebrating Meghan’s big day on their social media accounts. Meghan and Harry, of course, don’t have social media, so they have not reacted to any.

Here, a breakdown of the posts and what’s known about where the royals’ relationship with Meghan and Harry stand.

The Queen

The Royal Family Instagram, representing the Queen, has yet to share a post for Meghan. But Meghan and the Queen’s relationship is actually quite solid. Meghan touched on it herself during her Oprah interview. “The queen, for example, has always been wonderful to me,” Meghan said. “I mean, we had one of our first joint engagements together. She asked me to join her, and I went on the train. And we had breakfast

Families who dress together, stay together.

Last night, Kylie Jenner, Travis Scott, and their four-year-old daughter Stormi were spotted having a family date night while out and about in London. For the outing, the trio all coordinated their outfits with all-black looks.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder looked sultry in a classic little black dress, this strapless velvet iteration featuring a sweetheart neckline and a skintight silhouette. She was first spotted styling the dress with leather heeled mules with a mink fur strap from Saint Laurent, but later swapped her footwear for a pair of chunky platform velvet heels by Tom Ford. Accessories included more velvet, courtesy of a mini bag from Vivienne Westwood.

Meanwhile, Stormi looked adorable in a plain black tank top, leather pants, a black belt, and black boots.

The rapper also held his own next to his stylish girlfriend and daughter. He wore a black leather jacket over a graphic T-shirt, distressed black-and-white pants, and black sneakers. He accessorized with a sparkling silver chain necklace.

Lately, all-black looks seem to have become the dominating theme of Jenner’s wardrobe.

In a recent video posted to TikTok, Jenner modeled a semi-sheer bodysuit from Balenciaga (the favored fashion house of older sister Kim Kardashian). The look featured a faux turtleneck, long sleeves that doubled as gloves, and extended ankle-length pant legs. For accessories, she wore matching heels and statement gold earrings, as well as carried a tiny black bag from the brand.

And during another date night from earlier this summer, Jenner shared a mirror selfie

Inside the Big Business of Sponsored Weddings

The morning before her wedding, the model Josephine Skriver held the kind of brunch that sends the thumbs of her 7.5 million Instagram followers tapping. Wicker abounded. White umbrellas trembled in the breeze. Fresh-cracked coconuts were draped with sliced citrus. Menus advertised not one but two varieties of millennial-inflected toast: almond butter and avocado.

Almost 150 people had flown to Cabo San Lucas in April 2022 to watch Skriver and singer-songwriter Alexander DeLeon (better known as Bohnes to his quarter-million Instagram followers) tie the knot. Skriver hoped to give her loved ones a shot of relaxation—at a reasonable price. “You want it to be grand,” she says, describing her wedding planning mindset. But costs add up. “You don’t want to blow the craziest amount.”

The spread at the Flora Farms restaurant delighted Keltie Knight, the Canadian TV correspondent, who cut a quick video for TikTok to show it off. She tagged Skriver in the caption and then thanked her host, too—with a mention and a hashtag. Not that it could have taken Knight much time to deduce to whom she owed her gratitude. The host’s name was plastered all over the festivities. It wasn’t Skriver or DeLeon or their parents or their pals. To celebrate the bride and groom, skincare brand Sunday Riley had stepped in to pick up the tab. It had the iron-branded coconuts to prove it.

If you’ve recently noticed an increase in wedding photos on social media tagged with brand names instead of just cutesy portmanteau hashtags, you’re not alone. The practice of bold-faced names collaborating with fashion designers, luxury hotels, liquor brands, and the like to sponsor their nuptials has become as common as honeymoons in the Maldives. But what are couples giving up in order to have their

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott Step Out in Coordinating Moto Jackets

“Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below.”

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott stepped out in another set of fierce coordinating looks last night.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder, the “goosebumps” rapper, and their four-year-old daughter Stormi Webster capped off their week in the U.K. with the rapper’s Saturday night concert at the O2 arena. After the big show, the pair were spotted looking stylish in red-and-white jackets as they headed to dinner at The Twenty Two in London’s Mayfair neighborhood.

The reality star‘s unique leather biker jacket featured collarbone cutouts, a cropped triangular hemline, padded sleeves, an a circular silver zipper charm. She wore the piece zipped up, paired with a distressed miniskirt with a frayed hem and a visible pocket, made of two different shades of denim sewn together. She finished the look with strappy pointed-toe heels, while carrying a black rectangular clutch.

The musician paired his sleek red-and-ivory jacket with a white graphic t-shirt, beige joggers, a pair of white and gray Nikes, and an ornate pendant chain necklace.

For the concert itself, the reality star and her daughter wore an edgy spin on mommy-and-me outfits as they made their way to the arena. The mother of two paired a classic white tee with gray flare-leg jeans, which featured a distressed printed design and ending in styled creases at the shins. She finished the look with black pointed-toe shoes, a black shoulder bag, and minimal jewelry, with a pair of futuristic gray sunglasses serving as the standout accessory.

The four-year-old wore her own matching gray jeans, which included extra strap detailing and frayed cuffs, with a remixed Union Jack t-shirt and black-and-white sneakers.

J.Lo’s Honeymoon Heart Necklace Is a Hollywood A-Lister Staple

It’s turning into quite the summer of love, especially if you’re the new Mr. and Mrs. Affleck. Soon after their surprise Las Vegas wedding two weekends ago, Bennifer embarked affleck-family-paris-honeymoon-photos/” data-ylk=”slk:on their honeymoon in Paris” class=”link “on their honeymoon in Paris (with their respective kids in tow), where they have been for about a week, on a seemingly never-ending hand-in-hand frolic around the most romantic city in the world.

On Sunday, the pair went to the Louvre and then to the Dior maison, presumably for a little birthday shopping—it was J.Lo’s 53rd anniversaire. For the occasion she wore a red Reformation dress, which she topped off with a mixed clip chain necklace and various medallions, including one oversized heart, by cult jeweler Foundrae.

If she joined one club last week with her choice of an elegantly simple gold wedding band, she has now joined another, this one led by her new hubby’s circa ’90s ex: Gwyneth Paltrow. (She dated Affleck from 1997 to 2000.) But eagle-eyed watchers of J.Lo’s jewels will know that this wasn’t the first time she wore this Foundrae set. She got it exactly a year ago. It was a 52nd birthday gift from—who else?—Affleck. And it was what she wore to make their rekindled romance Insta-official.

Since it was founded seven years ago by Beth Hutchens and Murat Bugdaycay, Foundrae and its chain link necklaces and the various customizable charms that can be hung from them have become as ubiquitous among the Hollywood A-list as Cartier Love bracelets and those red Kabbalah strings of yore. The talismanic quality of the medallions is surely a draw. Plus, who doesn’t love a jewel that can be imbued

Learning to Shop with a Conscience

“Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through the links below.”

As shoppers, we’re all becoming more aware of the downsides of fast fashion: the environmental degradation, the labor issues. Shopping from ethical brands seems to be one answer, but it can be difficult—if not impossible—to understand what it means when a company claims to be “sustainable.” Ana Kannan, the founder of the luxury e-commerce platform TOWARD, has come up with her own solution.

Kannan’s upbringing inspired her passion for sustainability. Her car seats were pleather, her whole family was vegetarian, and her mother always emphasized keeping clothes in your closet for as long as possible. She went to the University of Southern California to study STEM, but when she took a class on sustainability in fashion, her mental wheels began to turn.

“I found myself asking questions,” Kannan explained, “like what percent of [a brand’s] supply chain do they really trace? Are these materials really certified responsible? What stops a brand from lying? And I realized that there needed to be a kind of a space where brands could be independently vetted, and consumers could trust that these brands were really responsible.”

She created TOWARD to tackle this mission. On the website, TOWARD’s clothes offer a delicate balance of earth tones and more modern hues—think elegant slip dresses, wide-legged trousers, and puffy pastel baby bags. The digital store has tabs labeled “Clothing,” “Shoes,” and “Bags & Accessories” like any shopping platform, but it also provides consumers with a “Responsibility” tab, outlining what sustainability means to the company. Kannan says that for her, the term “responsibility” extends so much further than simply sustainable branding. “It really refers to the holistic impact of every element

Last Wednesday, Hadid stepped out in SoHo wearing another warm-weather sweater look. She paired a cropped knit sweater vest, featuring different multicolored patterns including checker prints and stripes, with ripped wide-leg jeans from Danielle Guizio.

She finished the look with the same Converse sneakers and sunglasses from Friday’s look, as well as some fun accessories, including a creamy pocket pouch from Loro Piana, a brown bucket hat with a gray rim, a chunky gold choker necklace, and a hot pink charm bracelet.

The multi-hyphenate’s recent affinity for sweaters may be inspired by her forthcoming business venture, Guest in Residence. Yesterday, she posted an array of pictures in which she works with a team developing what appears to be an outerwear line, judging on the cute sweaters she wears in some pics. She also added the titles of Founder and Creative Director of Guest in to her Instagram bio.

“been workin on something …. with love, @guestinresidence 💛🧵 :),” she captioned the post.
