Eggs were the bizarre trend at New York Fashion Week

An emerging trend is on the horizon, and we really weren’t egg-specting it. (We’re sorry in advance for the egg puns.)

While New York Fashion Week 2023 highlighted so many new trends you can shop now, as well as street style everyone is wearing, it turns out that eggs might be making their way into our wardrobes.

Eggs are a staple in most refrigerators. They’re perfect as a breakfast food, as a baking ingredient… the list goes on and on. One thing, however, we never expected eggs to be was fashionable.

A few months ago, we saw a TikTok on the account @nailedbynika of a nail artist creating a 3D egg on an acrylic nail. It was actually pretty cute, in a surrealist, supermarket fashion kind of way.

This wasn’t a super shocking or questionable design in our opinion, seeing as we’ve seen a myriad of quirky patterns become popular over the last few years – for example, cow print, or even the very controversial emergence of chevron.

Lisa Says Gah!, a popular, ethical fashion brand that sells their products mainly online, also indulges in selling clothes with fun, food-related patterns. They have a popular white t-shirt called their Dana Long Sleeve with a baguette on it, for example – or you could peruse their Italian Summer Collection, which has prints on pants, shirts, and dresses that feature cans of sardines, bottles of wine, grape tomatoes, and more.

Recently, at the Puppet and Puppet show at New York Fashion week, we saw another food-related clothing item emerge – an egg bra. Pictured above, this egg bra was made with a group of variously shaped black crystals, and boasts sunnyside eggs in a position that perfectly covers the model’s nipples.

Some models were given egg bras that

Hair stylist named the most fashionable types of hairstyles in the upcoming season| BLiTZ

Among the options for collected hairstyles in the upcoming season, careless bunches will be in trend, and the most fashionable type of haircuts remains a bob. On February 15, makeup artist, hair stylist Ksenia Shcherbina told Izvestia about this.

“I always advise girls who want to be on trend, pay attention to how stars look on the red carpet, and look at fashion shows for more daring ideas. In terms of hairstyles, haircuts are undeniably important, and still in the trend are squares, elongated straight. Although actress Jenna Ortega brought chaos to the straight cut of the square, and appeared on the red carpet in a careless square, ”the expert noted.

Speaking about the fashionable types of collected hairstyles, Shcherbina drew attention to light, careless small bunches, as well as hairstyles using “crabs” or large hairpins.

“Also, smooth hairstyles, tight bundles and bunches of them do not leave us,” added the hair stylist.

On February 7, stylist Maria Sverdlikova listed the main fashion trends for the upcoming spring-summer season. According to her, the aesthetics of the 2000s remains the main trend in the fashion world and it will remain relevant in the upcoming season. So, one of the elements of this trend is a low rise.

In December 2022, stylist Lina Dembikova named body exposure as one of the main trends of the coming spring. Also, according to the expert, large collars and voluminous sleeves will be relevant.

Last week the retailer secured £5.4m when it issued new shares to existing shareholders and new investors to accelerate its omnichannel strategy following its partnership with Sainsbury’s.

The deal with the supermarket will see the etailer open its first physical space allowing shoppers to snap up products from a curated collection in store.

Sosander co-CEOs Ali Hall and Julie Lavington said that it believed the opportunity for Sosander “is larger than ever”.

They said: “We see a number of opportunities for further growth both on our own site and through our third-party partners in the coming months and beyond.”

Spanish fashion retailer Mango coming to Galleria Dallas, Frisco’s Stonebriar

The U.S. expansion of Spain’s fashion retailer Mango is starting to hit Texas.

The men’s and women’s apparel retailer is planning to open in Galleria Dallas later this year and Frisco’s Stonebriar Center early next year.

Brookfield Properties, which owns Stonebriar, just inked a deal for seven Mango stores.

“Stonebriar has been on fire, and it’s getting a lot of attention and able to attract great stores such as lululemon and Samsung,” said Rob Michaels, senior vice president of leasing for Brookfield Properties.

Mango’s U.S. expansion comes as mall-based apparel retailers such as Gap closed dozens of stores during the pandemic and others such as Christopher & Banks and The Limited liquidated in bankruptcy.

The Galleria store will open this fall on the mall’s first level, near Tiffany & Co. Mango has opened eight stores so far in Florida and in the New York area, including a 23,000-square-foot flagship on Fifth Avenue. It plans to have 40 stores open next year.

Three more will be in Brookfield malls in Texas: Baybrook Mall in Friendswood near Houston and two in San Antonio at North Star Mall and The Shops at La Cantera.

“We have a very good portfolio of malls in Texas,” Michaels said. The mall stores will be in the range of 4,000 to 6,000 square feet depending on available space, Michaels said.

The other Brookfield malls where Mango has signed leases are in Atlanta’s Perimeter Mall and in California at Rancho Cucamonga’s Victoria Gardens and Glendale Galleria.

With annual sales of more than $2 billion, Mango is smaller than Spain’s other fast-fashion retailer Zara, which is one of the largest fashion retailers in the world with annual sales of nearly $30 billion.

Another fast-fashion competitor out of China, Shein, gained momentum during the pandemic. It clocked sales up

There are perfectly good celebrity style moments, and then there are the looks that really stick with you, the ones you try desperately to recreate at home. In ‘Great Outfits in Fashion History,’ Fashionista editors are revisiting their all-time favorite lewks.

To become an “It” girl is no easy feat. To maintain “It” girl status decades later is downright extraordinary.

Few celebrities are able to claim such an accomplishment, hence Rihanna’s solidified icon status. There are so many great Rihanna fashion moments in the archives that it’s genuinely impossible to list them all. That said, you have to start somewhere, and her fur-trimmed coat at the 2006 Jingle Ball is certainly worth looking back on.

Before taking the stage to perform hit songs “SOS,” “Unfaithful,” “Break It Off” and “Pon de Replay,” Rihanna showed up on the carpet in a black fur-trimmed coat and peep-toe heels, her hair in an edgy bob cut. Her glam consisted of silver eyeshadow, thick black eyeliner, rosy red blush and a nude lip. (Later on in the evening, Rihanna revealed her outfit underneath: a black halter bodysuit and silver sequined mini-shorts.) This look has unashamedly lived in my head free-of-charge ever since.

Scroll down to shop pieces inspired by Rihanna’s 2006 outerwear game.

Julia Fox and Son Valentino at Diesel Fashion Show

Like mother, like son. On Feb. 22, Julia Fox attended the Diesel fall/winter 2023 presentation during Milan Fashion Week with her 2-year-old son Valentino. The two stepped out in matching denim looks, with Fox in a pair of extremely low-rise jeans that were actually pantaboots. She wore a denim jacket draped off her shoulders and a strapless bandeau top. Fox held Valentino on the red carpet, showing off his double-denim outfit as well as his cute cowboy boots.

This was Valentino’s very first fashion week appearance — not to mention his first-ever fashion show — and with a parent like Fox, good style is in his jeans. Fox, who shares her son with ex-husband Peter Artemiev, announced Valentino’s birth on Valentine’s Day in 2021. “My forever valentine, Valentino. Born on January 17th, 2021. The best day of my life,” she wrote on Instagram. Now that Valentino is a little older, the mother-son duo can take on the red carpet together, looking like a high-fashion duo.

In the past, Fox has stressed the importance of “maximum transparency,” which extends to some areas of her personal life, including parenting. To this point, she’s given a highly relatable tour of her apartment, spoken about raising her child in New York City, and opened up about her experience with postpartum depression. Now, she’s letting fans in on another (albeit more fashionable) milestone. Read on to see photos of Fox and Valentino at his very first fashion show.

The Gucci Attache Is Our Latest Obsession

The boho bag that became a Gucci staple in the ’70s is experiencing a vintage revival. The Gucci Attache is poised to be the newest It bag seen on the arms of all the fashion darlings. The metamorphosis of the Attache presents a celebration of infinite creative imagination that will warrant the attention of both bag and fashion lovers alike.

This bag moves beyond the realm of fashion as Alessandro Michele, Creative Director of Gucci, revived it to reflect and foster a narrative and gesturality outside the confines of gender. Made for him and her, the Gucci Attache is an object of everyone’s desire now.

“I was fascinated by the bag after having laid upon it a casual and fleeting glance while I was in the archive. Immediately, a desire took shape to reinterpret it and include it in the Love Parade collection for the fashion show in Los Angeles because its silhouette, typical of the ’70s, projects a very modern attitude that convinced me to draw out an eclectic symbol that could express the idea of a dual function,” said Michele.

Named after the French word meaning “hook”, the bag has us hooked with its half-moon design decorated with a metallic hook that attaches the two corners and a metal G clasp that opens and closes the silhouette.

Despite its geometric design, the bag still holds versatility with its size option and the flexibility of wear – it can be worn either on the shoulder or crossbody. With interchangeable straps – leather and Gucci’s signature Web straps – the Attache bag adds the perfect silhouette to any outfit.

The Gucci Attache will help create fashion’s boldest looks, stirring up serious drama for the season. Our tip? Don’t wait to add it to your wish list.
