Kim Kardashian looked every inch the doting mother as she took her daughter North West to pick up some art supplies in Agoura Hills, California on Monday afternoon.
As she supported her nine-year-old’s latest artistic endeavor, the 42-year-old reality star sported a black zip-up jacket, a low-cut tank top and oversized shades.
The beauty mogul, who recently returned from visiting her boyfriend Pete Davidson in Australia, completed her look with a pair of skintight black leggings and sneakers.

While walking back to their car, the eldest child of the SKIMS founder and Kanye West carried a large canvas from Fredrix Blue Label for acrylic, oil and alkyd painting.
For their laid-back outing, little North wore a baggy black t-shirt, burnt orange pants and hair in braids.
In 2021, Kardashian shared an impressive paining that her firstborn created, which sparked a debate over whether North had actually painted the scenic mountain landscape herself.

‘My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured,’ Kardashian wrote on her Instagram Stories, at the time.
The painting was compared by some to an artwork that famed TV artist Bob Ross would have created.
Almost immediately, some on Twitter were expressing their disbelief that the painting was created by North.

Sweet: The star enjoyed some quality time with her little girl
Following lots of debate about the validity of the painting – with many comments suggesting Kim’s child was not responsible for the painting – she added: ‘How dare you see children doing awesome things and then try to accuse them of NOT being awesome!?!?!’
‘Please stop embarrassing yourselves with the negativity and allow every child to be GREAT!!! NORTH WEST PAINTED THAT PERIOTDDDDDABCDEFGZFDT!!!!!!!’
Others leapt to her defense, including Kim’s BFF Tracy Romulus and the daughter of the woman who taught North how to paint the artwork.

Lots of supplies: Two men loaded Kim’s vehicle up with art supplies

Budding artist: In 2021, Kardashian shared an impressive paining that her firstborn created, which sparked a debate over whether North had actually painted the scenic mountain landscape herself
‘I’m supposed to work but i can’t stop thinking about how north west did not paint this,’ one person wrote alongside a screenshot of the painting.
‘You’re telling me North West is out here drawing like she is Bob Ross.. and I’m over here still drawing stick figures at 25?!?’ another skeptical Twitter user posted.
Another person chimed in: ‘Kim Kardashian’s child did not paint this. You can even see the photo shop signature. And even if you didn’t, it’s Kim K so you have to take everything she says with a heavy spoonful of salt.’

‘North West did not paint this’: wrote one Twitter user who ‘couldn’t stop thinking’ about the issue last year

Proud of their work: Kim’s pal Tracy Romulus came to her defense, explaining that her daughter Ryan does the same art class with North. She also asked people to stop spreading negativity
Some online critics even questioned North’s signature in the corner of the painting, claiming it to be fake.
‘When you zoom in you can see the border on the transparent “North =),”‘ one person noted, while another observed ‘Why does it look like that when u zoom in…. hmmm…’
Others, however, declared the painting was definitely within the skill range of a seven-year-old.
Kim’s friend Tracy Romulus, whose daughter Ryan is best friends with North, came to the E! star’s defense, revealing that their daughters take the same art class together.
She insisted that the artworks were original because students start from a blank canvas and they spend weeks doing them.
‘I have that I have to comment but grown adults are putting a lot of energy into questioning whether or not my daughter and her best friend actually painted the works we have shared proudly as parents,’ Romulus said on her Instagram stories.

Disbelief: Another compared the painting to the famed TV artist Bob Ross

Some stuck up for Kim while others were more skeptical: ‘Kim Kardashian’s child did not paint this. You can even see the photo shop signature.’

Hmmm: Other Twitter users pointed out it looked like North’s signature had been digitally added
‘Both girls are in art class together and learning oil painting techniques from an instructor.
‘They spend weeks at a time on a single painting and are incredibly proud of themselves once they complete a project.’
She added that the girls start with a blank canvas and ‘the works are original’.
‘They are following a curriculum but the works are original, starting from a blank canvas and each child’s interpretation.’
Romulus called for people to stop spreading negativity and ‘doubts on a child’s ability.’
Meanwhile, Camryn Frederickson took to TikTok to say her mother was the art teacher who actually taught North.

It’s legit! TikToker Camryn Frederickson revealed that she was taught how to paint the exact same scene when she was seven years old by her mother Celeste Astor Frederickson, who owns the For Art’s Sake studio in Westlake Village
Frederickson revealed that she was taught how to paint the exact same scene when she was also seven years old by her mother Celeste Astor Frederickson.
‘This is me at seven years old.’ Camryn said as she flashed up a photo of her posing next to the same lake and mountain scene.
‘And this is the infamous painting.
‘My mom taught me how to paint this and she taught North how to paint the same one, just two weeks ago.’
‘She’s been an art teacher for 30 years and everyone who comes to her classes starts with the exact same painting when they’re starting out.’
